Raymond Wirick has been a professional sculptor for over 25 years. Ray currently lives and works in East Kennett, Wiltshire U.K. with his lovely wife and two daughters. Since arriving from the U.S. 8 years ago, Raymond has been producing chainsaw carvings for both private and public collections in the UK.

Custom oak benches made to order and flocks of green, oak sheep are but a few of the services Raymond provides from his Wiltshire based studio.

On-site, stump carving allows Ray to take his work on the road. We can design a sculpture specific to your tree and garden’s dimensions. Simply instruct your tree surgeon as to the size of stump you wish to remain and leave the rest to us.

Taking into account the size and condition of the stump, Ray can create any design to suit your needs. Once a design is approved the real fun begins, transforming your garden into a sculpture garden or your wooded area into a sculpture trail.

Ray also performs chainsaw carving demonstrations at fairs and festivals. Spectators enjoy watching Ray carve large birds of prey, grizzly bears and sheep from local, sustainable timber. Story telling benches for schools, libraries and play areas are being produced with the inclusion of student help and guidance during the design phase. Ray can visit your class, perform a small demonstration and discuss the techniques of chainsaw carving. This collaboration between Ray and the students will involve and educate them by demonstrating how imagination and creativity combined with skill and hard work can produce their very own story telling bench.
